About ACBA

ACBA … Asia Content Business Assosiation

The economy of Asia has seen rapid growth in recent years.
The significance of the Asian market within the content industry globally, as well as the importance of strengthening cooperation between different regions in Asia have been highlighted by METI (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) in their reports, “Content Global Strategy” (2007) and “Asia Content Initiative” (2008) .

However, the fact of the matter is that due to a wide divergence in creative levels between each country and region in Asia, as well as the lack of an appropriate shared platform for business, problems often occur when companies or organizations from organizations in different Asian countries form partnerships.

The Asia Content Business Association aims to help resolve some of these issues which occur in the content business across Asia by contributing a shared platform with a shared language, technology and evaluation criteria. We are organizing a wide range of activities, from the Asia CG Kentei examination, though to the training of new talent for the industry, support for development of the industry across Asia and lively exchange and communication between our members.

About JCGI, the predecessor of ACBA

The mission of the Japan China Content Institute (JCCI) is to support the content industry in both countries and to contribute to business development between Japan and China.
Today, expectations for the digital content industry and culture of Asia are increasingly high.
Heeding this development and considering the expanding scope of the content industry, not only in China, but in all countries in the region, we have made the transition from JCCI to the “Asia Content Business Association”.

While it is certain that Japan and China will remain at the heart of Asia, we are aiming to establish the foundations of the Asian content industry as a whole, through training and human resources development, as well as standardization both from a business perspective as well as a creative perspective, with Japan expanding its role as a country within the region.

A Message from JCCI

The Japan China Content Institute (JCCI) was started as the “NPO Community Supporters Panel” (Chairman: Toru Miya), and with the support of partners such as the Kantou Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry, Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), local government bodies such as Mitaka City, Asia University and Tokyo University of Technology, has worked tirelessly through a variety of initiatives since its establishment in 2005, to support the development of Sino-Japanese relations within the content industry.
